Soft furniture would include sofas, arm chairs, recliners, and settes. Hard furniture would include dining room tables, dressers, and nightstands. Of course, there can be some overlap here. An ottoman with a soft, pillow insert and hard sides might fall into both categories, or neither category, depending on how you look at it.
